Kenya Bound

Springfield, Dallas, London, Kenya

All right. Deep breath.

After another lengthy retreat from the blogosphere, I am back. This seems to be the trend, and I am actually ok with that. For a while this past summer, I was having a difficult time reconciling my desire to connect via social media (Facebook, Twitter, LikedIn, etc) with my desperate need for an interior life. I found at the time that I couldn't cultivate one without neglecting the other and, ultimately, spirituality won.

While I consider myself a private person, I also acknowledge the role that social media can and has played. It is because of Kickstarter that I was able to raise money to travel to Kenya in May. Many of you good people promoted the campaign on Facebook, Google +, Twitter, etc, and it is because of all of your help that I was able to travel to Kenya to film the backbone of "Kenya: Until Hope is Found."

Needing to raise funds for air travel and promotion of the first version  of "Kenya: Until Hope is Found," I set up an Indiegogo account and, again, so many friends and well-wishers came through. I can't even begin to describe how grateful I am for all of the support. It means so much to me that so many of you believe in this project as much as I do. I consider it to be the most important film I have EVER worked on, and it has brought me to my knees as much as it has made me jump for joy.

As I write, I am in Dallas, Texas, waiting for my flight to Kenya via London. I am very excited to be returning with the documentary (excerpt here), and I commit to blogging about my experiences as often as I can. In return, y'all will commit to commenting on my posts as well, yes? Leaving a comment lets me know that I am not just making a journal entry (which, by the way, I try to do daily for mental health and serenity). I deeply appreciate your support, not just financially but morally as well. For those of you who are the praying kind, hold me up to the light every now and then.

Peace, Patrick

We love you and are praying for you Patrick. God speed and encourage and strengthen you and open all the doors in front of you. I've been scared to try the tapping but am intrigued by all of the testimonies of how it is working for so many people.
